Perhaps a defensive statement from the manager? 21:37 Dennis down 77' - Dennis loses the ball to Guimaraes, who sparks a counter attack, and rolls around on the floor in pain. The visitors seem to have come out with a point to prove. 21:04 SECOND HALF Isak kicks off the second half for Newcastle. Meanwhile, Anderson comes for the Magpies as Saint-Maximin makes way. 20:49 HALF TIME A huge moment at the end of the half as Isak claws Newcastle back into the game.
They've lacked clinical finishing this season but not on this occasion. That really was a superbly-taken goal from the Swede. 1-0 Forest! 20:23 Dennis booked 22' - Paul Tierney causes a chorus of boos around the City Ground as he blows up while Forest launch a counter-attack, penalising Dennis for a challenge on Trippier. The referee becomes even more unpopular as he books the forward after the tackle. 20:20 Wasteful from Aurier 20' - Forest carve out a fruitful period of possession and find Aurier in a promising position on the right flank, but the full-back overhits his cross and hands Newcastle a goal kick. 20:18 Pope denies Johnson 18' - Johnson cuts inside on to his left foot from the right flank and drills a long-distance effort down the throat of Pope. 20:16 Good pressure from Newcastle 15' - Guimaraes and Willock are linking up well and keeping Newcastle deep in Forest territory at the moment.

The Magpies endured the upset of a Carabao Cup final defeat during that run but will hope the disappointment is now behind them, as Eddie Howe focuses on launching them into Europe next season.
Newcastle have two games in hand over Tottenham, who are four points ahead of them in fourth, and a two point buffer over Liverpool. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are one of nine teams faced with the threat of relegation, although Steve Cooper has done well to steer his club out of immediate danger thus far. Forest have a two-point cushion above the relegation zone and have picked up most of their points at home this season, unbeaten in the league at the City Ground in their last nine matches.
