Ruth Langsford shared a few words of encouragement to her husband Eamonn Holmes amid his health battle. Eamonn took to his social media to share an update on the progress of the back surgery he underwent in September last year. The 63-year-old has been suffering from a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve, among many other health concerns, and has described his struggles as "soul-destroying" . Following the operation to help with his chronic back pain, he suffered a fall that left him with a fractured shoulder. He has been going to physiotherapy to get as healthy as possible and took to his social media to update fans over the weekend.
Eamonn posted a photo of his eyes closed as he pouted at the camera during a break in his training session. It's all about regaining my balance. Hard work made harder balancing on one leg," he said. His wife Ruth immediately took to the comment section to share her support.
Along with a couple of clapping emojis, Ruth wrote: " "Keep going." Radio presenter Bob Harris added the same support and posted: "Keep going Eamonn!" His wife shared some words of encouragement ( Image: eamonnholmes/Instagram) "Sending strength and love," one fan commented while another wrote: "Keep the good work up, and you’ll soon be back to your old self." In February, the TV presenter was seen at Wembley Stadium being pushed in a wheelchair by his son Declan Holmes. Before being pictured in the wheelchair, Eamonn regularly used a walking stick to help him get around after the slipped three discs in his back affected the movement of his right leg. After undergoing spinal surgery in September, he fell backwards down 18 stairs at his and Ruth's home.

Eamonn also recently admitted that he could have gone blind after he was struck down with Shingles , which he believes was bought on by a 'stressful' tax row. He was ordered to pay an unexpected £250,000 tax bill following a 2020 court ruling, which counted him as an ITV employee despite his arguing that he was freelance. The GB News star said at the time: "I was like a lamb to the slaughter – it was the most stressful, humiliating experience.” * Follow Mirror Celebs on Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter and Facebook .
